As those who follow me on social media may already know, last month I was able to attend one of the largest luxury real estate conferences of the year at Sotheby’s International Realty’s Global Networking Event (GNE). An international community of over 1500 industry experts descended upon Miami for the high-profile event hosted at the regal Fontainebleau Hotel. As the local affiliate, my firm ONE Sotheby’s was able to leverage this opportunity and represent our incredible portfolio of South Florida luxury properties before our colleagues from around the world.
The excitement kicked off with an exclusive cocktail event held by my firm at the Brickell City Centre Sales Gallery. More than 200 affiliate brokers were treated to cocktails and hor d’oeuvres as they heard remarks from our CEO Mayi de la Vega, Swire Properties executive Maile Aguilar and Swire President, Stephen Owens on the impressive scale and impact of the project. Punctuating the prestige of the ONE Sotheby’s brand, the following day guests were invited to brunch at another ONE SIR exclusive luxury development– the Ritz Carlton Residences, Miami Beach.
At the start of the official conference, Sotheby’s International Realty’s CEO Philip White energized agents with a presentation on the power of the Sotheby’s brand, highlighting that the firm recently broke records and achieved $60 billion in real estate sales worldwide in 2013. Later that same afternoon, attendees were thrilled to hear Miami Heat President Pat Riley speak to the importance of self-motivation as well the perks of living the glamorous Miami lifestyle. Thoughtful breakout sessions continued throughout the week, including discussions led by ONE Sotheby’s agents on local trends and marketing endeavors.
